Our next New Arrivals Dinner will be on Saturday September 18. If you are New Arrival to our wonderful city of Adelaide, we invite you as our guest to join us for this special dinner and information evening. You will learn about our city and country. You will learn about some really important aspects to life in Adelaide. We will have guest speakers who will address subjects of particular relevance to the needs of those who have recently arrived in Adelaide. There will be a Question and Answer period for you to gain valuable insights to your important questions. The dinner is free of charge to our guests. The time is 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. Family Fun Night

Our next Family Fun Night will will be be on Friday August 6th. The evening will start at 6.00pm with plenty of food available. There will also be a range of activities to keep you entertained. This will create a fantastic evening for all comers.

There are activities for the kids including a bouncy castle, a trampoline, video games – as well as table tennis and board games. Plan now to join us on Friday August 6th for our next Family Family Night. Entry is by donation which will help us to provide the food and entertainment.

International School of Ministry

We are delighted with the introduction to Sturt Street of the International School of Ministry (ISOM). This is a great way to get some of the very best teaching from God’s word into your life! Teachers include people like Dr Jack Hayford, Rev. Bayless Conley, Dr Dick Eastman, Dr Reinhard Bonnke and many other fine ministries.

ISOM was born out of a desire to help train and disciple people to become equipped and empowered for effective Christian service.

Classes are being conducted each Tuesday evening at 27 Sturt Street, Adelaide from 7.30 to 9.30pm. Teaching is presented in DVD format followed by a time of discussion. Each student receives a Workbook to facilitate further study and submit their work for credits towards a Diploma and through to a Bachelors degree. The entire course runs for almost two years. Mainly Music

A great program for young children is convened at Sturt Street each Wednesday.
It is fun, interactive and educational.
The starting time is 10am through to 11.30am.

This includes a thirty minute music session with the young children – with their parent/caregiver followed by a morning tea in a relaxed setting.

Good News or the Gospel?

The term ‘Gospel’ is well known in Christian circles. It is a word that is rarely used outside the Church. It simply means Good News. The question then arises as to why so many in our community do not think the Church has Good News?

Yes, we do have ‘Good News’! It is truly fantastic news! The news we have is of abundant life, eternal life and a fulfilled life. Why is it then that so many people in our society have a perception of the Church as being irrelevant and out of touch? Many of us cringe when the media reports on ‘the church’ as a place where abuse takes place and a message that is irrelevant is presented. Sadly, much of ‘the church’ that our society sees is in fact irrelevant and has a range of issues that have undermined the values that should be the hallmark of a vibrant group of Christian people.

This is the reason why the Church needs a constant renewing of its faith, passion, values and practices as we find clearly presented in the Bible. Whilst we know there are many good people throughout many of the ‘traditional churches’ – we are also saddened by the fact that much of the Church is in fact spiritually dry, dead and irrelevant.

As a young man raised in a ‘traditional church’ I became aware of the ‘dryness’ of the christianity I saw in the church I knew. However, a search for reality did not leave me without hope. As my search continued, I discovered, and then experienced, the most wonderful and deeply satisfying encounter with the Spirit of God – which radically changed my life. Since that time it has been my great joy to continue to live in the experience of knowing the reality of the Living Christ. Yes, I know it is subjective! I know I cannot show God to you with my five natural senses. But, let me assure you His life and power is Good News.

The challenge for all Christians who have a vibrant living relationship with Christ is to effectively communicate the Good News with our community.

We do not achieve this by ‘forcing the Bible on people’, but, by living our lives in a vibrant, wholesome and joyous way that truly is the evidence that our experience with Jesus Christ is Good News!
