Sunrise Bethel Christian School Opens…

Wonderful News! Sunrise Bethel Christian School is now a reality.  (Watch the video online)  The official opening took place on Sunday January 31, 2010 and School commenced the next day, February 1st. It was a fantastic weekend of celebration for the many people involved who have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone. The seeds of this dream go back many years in the hearts and lives of a number of people both in Papua New Guinea and Australia. Today a Christ Centred, Bible Based Christian School is operating at Bethel Centre, Port Moresby. The support, prayers, dedication and involvement of many people has been a great effort. A key driving force has been Mr Kym Golding, Head of Schools for Adelaide Christian Schools. Kym and a great team have coordinated and worked together to fulfil the dream. The team at Bethel Centre have been wonderful in their support and faithfulness. The school has commenced as a Prep to 2 junior elementary school. It will grow by one class each year through to a Prep to 12 school. Classes are housed on the first floor of Bethel Tabernacle of Praise. This building will provide facilities for the first couple of years. Then class rooms will need to be built on another part of the property as the school grows. The next major phase of the vision is to commence Teacher Training in PNG – for both the nation of PNG and the Asia Pacific. It is our belief that God will raise up an army of strong Christian Teachers who will establish Christian Schools across PNG and in countries across the Asia Pacific. We dare to believe God will use this vehicle to change hearts, lives, communities and nations to become passionate disciples of Jesus Christ who will in turn reach out to others.
